The New "Mr. Pig," the Pugnacious Dutch Mastiff

So, I spoke to Robert today, and he told me that rather than buying me a pug when we are finally back in the same state, he is going to buy me a Dutch Mastiff. Check them out. This cracked me up.

While discussing the Robert front, he is now considering putting off the JAG corps for a year or two and moving down to Little Rock. We have both decided that it might be in our best interest to get hitched (September 2009 - mark your calendars), get jobs in Little Rock, and spend a few years getting situated and deciding what we really want before we get shipped off to some random base in Germany, Japan, or Iowa. So, if you know anybody wanting to hire a good lawyer, fresh in from Portland, I will send his resume your way. You know me - planning ahead as always. . .I want him hired before he even graduates. :)

On to other news. Today, after work, I went to buy a knee brace at Tesco - the Czech equivalent of Wal-Mart. This place has everything from wedding dresses and wigs to DVD players and basketball hoops. A short walk from the store is a small pub I've been told about many times - and that Amanda actually visited a few times this week - called the Globe. This place is great. American-owned, the Globe has an awesome selection of used and new English-language books. I was able to buy Rant by Chuck Palahniuk, which I had neglected to do on my way out of the states. He is my absolute favorite author, so I spent the next two hours working my way through most of the novel and drinking happy hour wine at 14 kc a glass. . .about the equivalent of 95 cents. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon.

Other than that - Amanda and I are going to go check out a bar tomorrow night, which will be fun, and I plan to wash some clothing if it looks hot enough to hang dry things. Hope to talk to you all this weekend!
