Well, my friends. I made it. I have been here since Tuesday night, and I am flat out exhausted. However, there have been some amazing occurences in the past 48 hours.
1) My luggage was not too heavy, nor did it get lost, and I was picked up at the airport by my host couple, Mirek and Iva, who are wonderful.
2) On the drive home, we had to stop because there was a HEDGEHOG crossing the street. I love hedgehogs - they are only second to Pugs - and I was in absolute bliss watching it. More amazingly, the host couple did not seem to think I was totally bizarre when, in my pug voice, I said, "HEDGEHOG" and started giggling.
3) I work, get this, in a villa on a vineyard in a park. It is beautiful, unbelievable, and fantastic. And I have a desk, which is beyond amazing and makes me feel oh-so-professional.
I am pretty tired altogether as it has been an enormously hectic 48 hours, and I feel that writing more might just add to the brain drain I have been experiencing, so I am going to go for now. I just have to say that I am happy, healthy, and very, very, very excited to be sitting in a villa in Prague, researching ways to help Burmese refugees in Europe. This is totally and utterly what life is all about. :)
